Q&A with Alice: From farm to finish line

Through working with children in care, Alice has visited our farms five times and witnessed the incredible transformation in the young people she supports. Now, she’s taking on her biggest challenge yet – the London Marathon – to give back to Jamie’s Farm, a charity that inspires her.

Why did you decide to run the London Marathon for Jamie’s Farm?
One of my colleagues spotted the ad on Instagram and knew how much I love running and how passionate I am about Jamie’s Farm. I’ve been lucky enough to visit the farms several times with groups of children in care, and every trip has been transformative. Running for Jamie’s Farm feels like the perfect way to give back to a charity that means so much to me.

What will motivate you during those long training runs?
For me, running is about both physical and mental health – it resets me. But when I’m out on those long runs, I’ll be thinking about the young people we work with. They often face huge challenges, and Jamie’s Farm gives them a warm, supportive space where they feel valued and empowered. That thought will keep me going.

You’ve seen the programme in action – what difference does it make?
Honestly, it’s magical. I’ve been to Bath, Lewes, and Hereford, and each farm creates a sense of belonging that stays with the young people long after they leave. From herding sheep and mucking out stables to hiking, rolling down hills to sharing stories around the dinner table,  every moment helps them build confidence and connection. Back at school, we see a real change. They believe in themselves more, and that impacts every part of their lives.

What would you say to someone considering donating?
I’d tell them about the incredible experiences these children have on the farm and the positive, lasting benefits. Jamie’s Farm changes futures and your support helps make that possible.

Why not take on your own challenge for Jamie’s Farm? Whether it’s a marathon, a hike, or something completely unique, every step helps transform young lives.
