March update from Jamie’s Farm Bath

Spring is in full swing here, and what a wonderful month it’s been! We’ve been bustling with activity, welcoming back familiar friends and witnessing incredible growth.

Returning Faces & New Beginnings

It’s been fantastic to see returning partners like Thomas Knyvett, Cranford, Chelsea Academy, and Hurlingham. We’re also eagerly anticipating the return of Cox Green School. Plus, the joy of lambing was shared with Box Primary, with another visit planned this week.

Connecting & Celebrating Growth

Julie’s trip to Carshalton was a highlight, celebrating the progress of the boys from February and seeing their delight in reuniting with Bella. A visiting staff member shared a powerful testament:

“Jamie’s farm has had a huge impact on [one student’s] understanding of herself and what she wants for herself in terms of her safety and friendships. She has been able to see that she does not need to take part in risky situations to feel validated by her peers and how valuable positive and healthy activities and interactions are.

The work that you all do is invaluable specially at a time like now, when children want to grow up so fast and do not allow themselves to enjoy being a child. Taking them out from their comfort zones so sensibly and carefully, making them feel successful and proud of their achievements.”

Lambs, Calves, and Polytunnel Progress!

Lambing is well underway, our young farmers are naturals! Calving is nearly complete, and the calves are a joy to watch. Keep an eye out for goose and piglet updates! A huge thank you to Rob Carnie and the students from Chelsea and Hurlingham for their work on the reconstructed polytunnel.

Community Support & Joyful Moments

We’re so grateful for the support of volunteers Coco from Bertha Earth and Isabel Ross, who brought enthusiasm and energy to our visits. A special shoutout to Kim and her family, who won a lambing experience at a recent auction. It was a delightful day allowing you to experience the magic of new life being born on the farm.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Your support makes these transformative experiences possible.
