Alicia grew up in Herefordshire surrounded by horses and dogs, and has always been passionate about sharing this beautiful part of the world and the calm that it offers. After studying Psychology at Bristol university, she taught secondary Science in the South Wales valleys for 3 years. This, alongside volunteering at Jamie’s Farm in the holidays, confirmed that working with young people was where she wanted to be, but in a setting outside of mainstream classroom teaching. She then spent 2 years in Brighton, wild swimming and working at Skills Builder, supporting teachers and youth organisations to provide opportunities for young people to develop essential skills such as leadership, staying positive and teamwork.
At Jamie’s Farm, Alicia uses her personal experience to guide her therapeutic horse sessions and activities with young people. She is passionate about young people and providing them with experiences that will support them to navigate through to their adulthood, and the importance of everyone having the opportunity to connect with the outdoors.
