A Busy and Productive Month!
This month has been a whirlwind of activity, filled with the joy of welcoming wonderful groups from Hailsham, Three Rivers Academy, Oasis Shirley Park, and Lewes Priory! Our visitors have fully immersed themselves in farm life, from feeding our 300 expectant ewes and milking our beloved cow, Penny, to tackling various hands-on projects. We’ve seen incredible teamwork in the garden planting, the kitchen cooking up delicious new recipes, and the flurry of preparations for lambing season. The creative energy has been palpable, with groups building birdboxes, crafting a farm stall, and giving various farm areas a fresh, vibrant makeover.

Reconnecting and Celebrating at Waterloo
We were delighted to host a brilliant follow-up visit with John Burns Primary School at our Waterloo farm. It was a morning filled with farming, gardening, cooking, and joyful celebrations. The children were particularly captivated by our friendly goats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, and watching the video highlights of their time on the farm brought back many happy memories.
Spring’s Arrival and New Arrivals!
Spring has truly sprung, bringing with it the joyous arrival of our first lambs on Mother’s Day, with many more following! We’re excited to work alongside our visiting groups to ensure a successful lambing season. We’ve also welcomed six adorable goat kids to the farm, who are thriving and bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. In the garden, Jessie’s hard work is blossoming into a vibrant display of new life.
Celebrating Our Wonderful Volunteer, Lou
This month, we’d like to shine a spotlight on our incredible kitchen volunteer, Lou. Her dedication to working alongside our young visitors to create healthy and delicious meals is truly inspiring. We cherish her infectious sense of humour, her willingness to lend a listening ear, and the genuine care she shows to every young person she encounters.

Transformative Moments
We witnessed a truly remarkable transformation this month with a student who had been disengaged from school for a long time. Their motivation and willingness to try new things were astounding. The nurturing environment and the dedicated care of our team created a “light bulb moment” on Wednesday, as they discovered the joy of positive interaction and humour. It was heartbreaking to see them leave, knowing the challenges they face at home. This week proved the power of nurture in creating change, even in a short time. While we can’t control what happens next, we are committed to keeping the positive impact of this week alive.
Thank you for your continued support, which makes these transformative experiences possible for so many young people.
