We finished off the summer term with some great visits from Dallam School, Co-op Academy Grange, Settle College, and Eastwood Community School. Games of rounders and frisbee, celebratory food, and of course lots of hard work on the farm were a fitting end to a fantastic six weeks.
Ben had a great catch up with a group from Hyndburn Academy. It was brilliant getting to see what they had all been up to since coming to the farm, and reliving their highlights through their celebration video was a pleasure!
We were delighted that most of the trustees could make it up to our Skipton farm. They had a tour of the farm in a tractor-drawn carriage (trailer) and were lucky enough to meet some of the young people from Eastwood Community School we have been working with.
As word continues to spread about our Skipton site, we are welcoming more photographers and reporters who want to capture the JF magic in action. We featured on BBC Look North, on a bright summers day and are waiting for a piece in the Yorkshire Post Weekend Magazine.
Our hedgerows are blooming and the bees are enjoying the summer abundance of clover, thistles, and flowers.
We celebrated our first successful camping trip this week with two superb young people from Stoke Foster Care. Our fields have been named and we have festival lights up for the summer camping extravaganza.
We are delighted to not only have welcomed Catherine to the team but also to welcome Teresa. Catherine is now taking on occasional shifts and often arrives with vases of flowers, home grown berry ice creams, as well as much-needed gardening skills.
Teresa has slotted in like a dream, bringing exceptional joy, phenomenal food and tireless energy to the food coordinator role. Â
A new puppy has joined the team on Wednesday and Thursdays, Coral was a big hit with the visiting young people this week and is learning all about the ways of the farm.
