Jamie's Farm Ambassadors

We are delighted to introduce our 2019 Jamie’s Farm Ambassadors from across England and Wales. Our Ambassadors have all previouly completed the Jamie’s Farm programme and demonstrated exceptional potential and leadership skills. Over the next twelve months they will be meeting quarterly at each of our farms, inputting into how we run our programme and developing their leadership skills along the way.

Highlights from our Jamie’s Farm 2018 Ambassador programme

Lauching our Lewes Farm

Our Ambassadors were the first ever group to stay at Jamie’s Farm Lewes, our fourth rural farm, helping to trial and prepare the farm ready for its launch in April 2018. The group worked hard building the fire pit, feeding into the decor and design of the farmhouse and hosted lunch and dinner for individuals from the local community. Read designers Rockett St George’s blog about the house makeover here.

In the Press

Our Ambassadors got stuck in with various interview opportunities with the press. A few highlights included Adele and Lois speaking on BBC Sussex Radio and Georgie contributing to a feature in Sussex Living Magazine. Our Ambassadors have been fantastic in helping raise awareness of Jamie’s Farm, as well as growing hugely in confidence along the way.

Hosting our Open Days

Our Hereford and Bath Open Days were a roaring success, thanks to the leadership skills of our Ambassadors. They helped prepare and set up the farms, welcome over 1,000 visitors, ran stalls and hosted tours of the farms and the animals. The Ambassadors also did a Q and A at both Open Days which were incredibly powerful and moving.

Feeding into our programme

Our Ambassadors have provided essential feedback on our programme, giving ideas on what can be improved and helping to shape it so that the programme is as effective as possible at meeting young people’s needs. They have been a huge part of setting up our alumni network, creating content for the website and resources for other young people coming to the farm for the first time.

A Night at Oasis Farm Waterloo

Oasis Farm Waterloo hosted a new event for Jamie’s Farm, whereby we welcomed over 60 supporters for supper and the chance to hear from our Ambassadors in a panel discussion with Jonathan Dimbleby. The event was a real celebration of the Ambassadors development in public speaking, confidence and professionalism, and also gave an insight into their views as a young person today. You can hear the discussion on our podcast.

End of Year Celebration

In December 2019 we were back at Oasis Farm Waterloo, but this time to celebrate our Ambassadors and recognise the progress they had made over the twelve month Ambassador programme and since their first ever visit to Jamie’s Farm with their school. Looking back, it is clear to see what fantastic young people they have all become and we look forward to following their progress. A huge thank you to all the school staff, parents and carers who have supported our Ambassadors to get the most from the experience.
