For many of the young people and vulnerable groups we support, a trip to Jamie’s Farm is needed now more than ever. Following the closure of our farms on the 30th March we are delighted to begin our phased re-opening.
From the 29th June we began welcoming back groups for day visits to our Bath farm and Oasis Farm in London’s Waterloo. This will be followed by day visits in the coming weeks to our farms in Bath and Lewes. These first visits will be for groups who urgently need a visit to Jamie’s Farm following the challenges and stresses of the lockdown period, including a Special School, social services family groups and looked after children. Our plan is to reopen our Hereford and Monmouth farms in September, when all pupils return to school.
The safety of our visiting young people and their teachers, our staff and volunteers as well as the communities surrounding our farms remains our utmost priority. We have put in place effective measures and procedures to keep everybody safe and will be closely monitoring our phased re-opening, making improvements as we go. We will, of course, continue to monitor public health guidance and ensure we meet all guidelines and best practice. Throughout the lockdown period, our dedicated farmers and staff have continued to manage our farms and care for our animals while bringing the Jamie’s Farm spirit to our young people virtually through social media, lessons, activities and therapeutic check-ins. This same support will continue as we begin to re-open.
We are determined to do all we can to ensure that Jamie’s Farm emerges from this crisis in a strong position so that we can continue to have a transformative impact on some of the country’s most deserving young people. If you would like to help us weather the storm, please consider donating.
We want to extend a huge thank you to all our dedicated school partners, supporters and staff who have helped us throughout this period so that we can continue to change the lives of young people for years to come. We will keep you updated on our progress.
With Best Wishes,
The Jamie’s Farm Team
