Springing into Action!
February has been a month of vibrant activity and heartwarming connections here at Jamie’s Farm Lewes. We’ve welcomed wonderful groups, witnessed incredible growth, and embraced the first signs of spring.
Building Connections and Sharing Experiences
We started the month with a fantastic visit from John Burns Primary School. Despite the challenging weather, their enthusiasm shone through, with highlights including some impressive hill rolling and a delicious Ghanaian Light Soup recipe that’s now a farm favorite!
It was a pleasure to host Longhill School again, where laughter and teamwork filled the week as students tackled a variety of farm jobs. Holy Trinity Church of England School returned for another visit, enjoying muddy walks, goat care, and sheep herding.
A slightly older group from Brighton Met brought their positive energy to the farm, lending a hand with everything from milking Penny the Jersey cow to bedding down the animals. Their supportive spirit was truly appreciated.
Our team also had a rewarding follow-up visit to Lister Community School, hearing firsthand how they’ve integrated Jamie’s Farm approaches, like regular check-ins, into their school environment.

Spring Arrivals and Farm Adventures
Spring has arrived in Lewes! Our visiting young people have been delighted to meet our adorable goat kids and have taken excellent care of them. Charlotte has been busy preparing for lambing, ensuring our sheep are healthy and ready. Our horses have even been learning to recognize colors and play football, thanks to our creative visitors! Following a successful sheep scan, we’re eagerly anticipating lambing with our upcoming groups.
Witnessing Transformation
We were deeply touched by feedback from visiting staff: “I have seen students who barely speak and are more than happy in ‘their own world’ come out of their shells and have brilliant conversations and jokes with others. I have seen them all become more patient and understanding of each other. Over the week I have also seen the shout outs get more detailed and positive and to people that they maybe didn’t know well at the beginning of the week as well as seeing these shout outs being taken to heart and having a real positive impact.” These moments of growth and connection are what make our work so rewarding.
Thank you for your continued support, which allows us to create these transformative experiences. We’re excited for the lambing season and look forward to sharing more updates soon!
