On Monday, 25th November, from 16:00 to 17:15, we hosted a webinar on the theme of ‘Belonging’— a key concept in the current education landscape and central to the therapeutic programme at Jamie’s Farm.
The discussion explored the true meaning of belonging, why it’s so critical in working with young people, and how we can authentically create a sense of belonging in collaboration with them.
The webinar offered:
- A deeper understanding of what belonging truly means to young people and its significance.
- Tangible, practical examples of relational practice.
- Insights into implementing a whole-school approach to building belonging.
The session was chaired by Jake Curtis, Co-CEO of Jamie’s Farm, and featured a fantastic panel of experts:
- Professor Toby Greany – Professor of Education at Nottingham University and Author of the ‘Belonging Schools’ 2024 report.
- Tish Feilden – Director of Therapeutic Education and Co-Founder of Jamie’s Farm.
- Tom Shaw – Senior Manager for Relational & Restorative Practice, Coaching & Character at Carr Manor Community School.
- Riley, Jamie’s Farm Youth Champion.
The event was a great opportunity for everyone to learn, share, and be inspired by how we can foster belonging within our educational environments. Thanks to all who attended and contributed to the conversation!
