Sarah is passionate about young people and the evidence about ways we can best enable them to fulfil their potential. With over 30 years’ experience championing young people’s causes, Sarah’s experience spans children and young people’s mental health as CEO of YoungMinds for 12 years, youth homelessness as Director of Services of the national youth homelessness charity Centrepoint, and youth offending and education as CEO of Motiv8. Sarah believes in working in partnership with other third sector organisations but also by working closely with government and statutorily bodies such as Schools and the NHS to achieve improvement and change for the better. Sarah was awarded an OBE in 2017 for services to children’s mental health. She has an MSc from LSE in Voluntary Sector Organisation, is a qualified Coach and Counsellor. She continues to pursue her interest in mental health through her voluntary and consultancy work.
Having recently moved to Somerset she is delighted to be supporting such an important service as Jamie’s Farm. She looks after her own wellbeing by being outdoors as much as possible – with her 2 effervescent springer spaniels and hiking up mountains at the first opportunity.
