Why not take on a 5K challenge with family and friends to spend time outdoors with others, and raise some money for Jamie’s Farm at the same time? Being around nature and green spaces is a great way to care for your mental health whilst also having fun. You can take part whenever you’d like – simply pick a date, find a running buddy and get out there!
Want to take part?
Taking part in the Fun 5K is simple. You’ll get a customisable GivePenny page where you can record your steps using Strava and send to your fundraising sponsors. Don’t have Strava? No problem, you can measure your distance by time – a 5K would normally take around an hour to walk.

We all know the importance of getting out into nature and moving your body – exercising in green spaces is a great natural medicine, addressing physical and mental health challenges and bringing a fun, social factor when you do it as a group (NCBI, 2013). Nature’s health benefits can also act as a motivator for change. As many of you know, we get out into green spaces every week with our visiting young people through daily walks in the rural countryside, and we regularly hear that it’s one of their favourite parts of the day.
Share your stories of completing your 5K on your social media posts and don’t forgot to tag us @Jamiesfarm and use the hashtag #TakingPart – we’d love to share your stories on our own socials.
